1. Fasgear 16pin to 2x8pin extension cable is mainly designed for GPU power, like RTX 5070, 5070 Ti, 4090, 4080, 4070 Ti, 4070 (only for 16pin), 3090 Ti.

2. This GPU power extension cable CAN NOT plug in PSU port directly and it should be used with the PSU’s original PCIE/CPU 8-pin cable together, and you need 2 unoccupied 8-pin ports on your PSU. Please see our pictures for the correct connecting way.

3. This GPU sleeved extender cable is not compatible with the GPU with 12pin or 8pin power connector, such as GeForce RTX 3090 Series and 8pin RTX 4070 GPU. Questions & Answers

Q1: Why our cable can carry a maximum of 600W power?

A1: Our cable uses High Conductivity Copper Terminals, which can carry current up to 10-12A. 16AWG copper wire can also carry 12A current. Theoretically, there are 3 power supply circuits within an 8pin. 10A*12V*3=360W, that means, a single 8pin can carry a maximum of 360W power. The amount of power output depends on the capacity of the power supply. In theory, a single 8pin port of the power supply can output about 300W.

Q2: Will it affect using when the cable has one empty pin?

A2: No, it is not affect using because the one empty is connected to the GND wire with the function of overcurrent protection.

Q3: What PSUs are compatible with it?

A3: It is compatible with for most modular power supplies, which requires 2 unoccupied 8pin PCIe/CPU ports at least. Compatible with ASUS, EVGA, Seasonic, Corsair, Thermal-take, Great Wall, NZXT, MSI, etc.

Q4: Sharers have mentioned that it is compatible with RTX 5080, RTX 5090, is the 16pin to 2×8 pcie extension cable really compatible?

A4: For RTX 5080, RTX 5090, we recommend that you choose 16pin to 3×8 pin adapter cable or 16pin to 4×8 pin adapter cable from Fasgear store. Even though some sharers have mentioned that compatible with rtx 5080, we don’t really recommend risking it.
